Gettin' your fix at Pops 66.

Gettin' your fix at Pops 66.  Pops 66 Arcadia OK

As you tool along Route 66 towards Arcadia, OK you come across a giant modern structure jutting out from the surrounding slightly hilly plains.  It almost seems monument like with its cantilievered angular roofline and of course the signature 66 foot tall "bottle" out front.  A monument to cola....

The bottle is a towering representation of a soda bottle that glows in a variety of neon colors at night.  This makes night time our favorite time to stop.

The exterior "walls" of glass (set at an angle) provide perfect shelves to line with colorful varieties of pop, soda, cola.. or coke

Inside there are 600+ varieties of cokes, colas, root beers, cream sodas, orange pop, purple stuff and more.
They also have a soda fountain and old style diner food served up daily at the counter.  We've never sampled but hear the milk shakes are the bomb.

If you ever find yourself skating through the Oklahoma City area detour a little off on old Route 66 stop in. One word of caution though.. the speed drops right around Pops/Arcadia and Johnny Law is happy to add a little tax to your cola purchase.  Where we grew up it's Coke..  "Want a Coke? Sure.  What kind?"  Around these parts I suppose they call it Pop... whatever you call it.. its worth the stop.

#LostFiles The Urge Steve Ewing

Kicking it ollllld school.  Digging through the hard drives and found this old low res scan of Steve Ewing of The Urge (http://www.theurge.net/).  This shot was taken at Liberty Hall in Lawrence I believe in 1998 or 1999... my memory of the exact time is fuzzy.  I know they played with P.O.D. (Yes.. that P.O.D.) and Six Percent who were a local KC band who I remember playing trombones that had actual literal fire shooting out the end.  Either way.. shot this with a old Pentax screw mount camera.. all manual focus.. Ilford black and white film.  I was standing on the stack and he paused and looked at me with this look.. only for a second.. and I got it.  Sometimes timing works out.  I have hundreds of these that didn't work.  This one did.  Long live film and long live manual focus.  I firmly believe everyone should learn to shoot all manual cameras with black and white film before they shoot with anything else.  Don't forget to check me out on Instagram @orangecouchcollective.

Mercedes CLS550 Renntech photo shoot..

Got to shoot a Mercedes Benz CLS550 with Renntech upgrades the other day.  Local dealer is offering "turnkey" cars (how cool is that?) and needed some shots.  This car had upgraded Renntech forged one piece wheels, ecu flash/tune, mufflers and intake.  Total sleeper for a big sedan.  The exhaust has an awesome throaty muscle car sound most people don't associate with euro cars and is quick.. much quicker than a stock CLS550.  I can't imagine what a CLS55 AMG with upgrades would be like!

I think the side view might be the sexiest view of the CLS cars.  You get a good look at the windows that look like one big sweeping window.

I'll take mine in silver but black will do.

Shot these fairly static with no helpers, fill flash, reflectors, etc.. pretty much grip and grin with no heavy post work just a little color correction to my liking.
